 What were the names of the two Moabite women who joined Naomi's family?

 

Answer:   Orpah and Ruth. “…the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth. And they dwelt there about ten years.." Ruth 1:4

 

 Question to intermediates:

 

Who was used by God so that Ruth might know the true God?

 

Answer:   Naomi, through her testimony and faith in God. “For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” Acts 2:39.

 

Question to adolescents:

 

Read Ruth, chapter 1, verses 3 and 4 and answer: Which family did Ruth join, where she had the opportunity to know the true God?

 

Answer:    Answer: Naomi's family. " Then Elimelech, Naomi’s husband, died; and she was left, and her two sons. Now they took wives of the women of Moab: the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth. And they dwelt there about ten years." Ruth 1:3-4.

Question to children:

 

 Who made the good choice, Ruth or Orpah?

 

Answer:  Ruth. "...your people shall be my people, and your God, my God." Ruth 1:16.

Why did Ruth choose to go with Naomi to Bethlehem?

 

Answer:  Because she made the good choice to serve the God of Israel, the true God. But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; for wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.” Ruth 1:16. 

 

Question for Adolescents:

 

Read Ruth 1:16 and answer: What was Ruth's choice when Naomi decided to return to Bethlehem?

 

Answer:  She chose to go with Naomi, because she decided to stay among the people of Israel, serving the true God. But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; for wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.” Ruth 1:16.
